In this post, I’m going to explain why our friends feel bad spending a lot of money on healthy food but seem to have no problem, at all, spending a lot on crappy food. And then I’m going to introduce a simple mind set that can help you a lot going forward. Let’s get to it!

Confession time…

I love ice cream. I love cookies. I love hamburgers and fries.

I’m not saying it’s not fun to eat unhealthy. Because it is.

What I’m saying is that it’s way MORE fun to eat healthfully and to exercise.

Said in another way, I’ve never felt better from eating junk food than I have from eating healthy food.

I ALWAYS feel better when I eat better. (I know you do too.)

Ready for the reason why your friend is willing to pay top dollar for junk food but protests when it comes to healthy food?

When we’re in the middle of an intense craving, and we feel compelled to eat, we don’t think twice about the price.

$6 for a pint of ice cream? “I’ll take two!”

$4 a cookie? “Here ya go!” And we’ll even say, “Thanks!”

Gotta drive 5 miles away for that certain type of pizza you like? Vroom, vroom!

We do this because we’re thinking irrationally. We’re thinking with our short term self.

And when we go to the supermarket on a satisfied stomach (because my clients don’t go to a supermarket hungry, right?) we’re rational and thinking long term.

$6 for grapes? “What are they nuts?!?!?” we think.

$8 for clementines?! “That’s just insane!”

It goes on and on.

We feel bad about paying good money for good food but don’t think twice about paying good money for bad food.

Here’s a real quick lesson on why we buy:

We buy things because of the way they make us FEEL. People don’t drive fancy cars because they get them from point A to B faster. People don’t buy nice
watches because they tell time better.

No. They buy the fancy car because of the way it makes them feel. They buy the fancy watch for the same reason.

Here’s the best part about buying healthy food for ourselves —-> We feel better too!

I feel so much better investing in healthier food rather than spending on junk food.

This is the crucial switch:

EXPENSE VS. INVESTMENT

Want ice cream? The ice cream COSTS $6.

Want grapes but feel bad because your rational mind is telling you they’re too pricey? The grapes are an INVESTMENT of $6.

See the difference?

We feel even better eating it and 100x better AFTER eating it.

So let’s not feel bad about spending a few extra bucks on ourselves food wise.

The best part?

A cost is lost money. An investment pays us back over and over again. (At least a good one, does.) With our food choices, we GET to feel awesome during, afterward, and of course, we get to work towards our health and fitness…

Which, to me, is the BEST investment we can ever make. (Am I biased? Sure…but even if I didn’t own MyBodyTutor, I’d think it was.) I mean, without our health and fitness does anything else really even matter?

After all, YOU ARE worth it!

And besides, if you want to get all rational, I can list countless studies that prove how investing in our health and fitness now is far cheaper than the
alternative. But I will spare you and share these two quotes:

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

“It’s better to pay the supermarket than the doctor.”

Successful people invest in themselves, and they don’t feel bad about it because they know they’re an appreciating asset.

Have a great weekend! And remember: if you’re going out to eat, don’t feel bad spending a few extra bucks on the healthier food! We never, ever, regret our healthy choices.

##

In my opinion, there are three important parts to living your life in the best way:

- HEALTH
- WEALTH
- LOVE

See those three things?

Rate each one of yours on a scale of 1-10.

1 = I hate this part of my life.
5 =  It’s acceptable… but I’m not happy with it.
10 =  I’m kicking assssss.

Health, Wealth, Love.

Notice anything? Is one of yours WAY lower than the other?

When one of them goes way low, the others are impacted. Think about it:

If your wealth sucks, it’ll be harder to find or keep love. It’ll be more difficult to maintain your health with no resources and luxury of time.

If your love sucks (I mean family and friendly relationships along with romantic ones)… it’ll impact your health and depress you, which means your wealth AND health will suffer too.

If your health sucks, it’ll impact your love life AND your wealth.

In fact… if you don’t have your HEALTH, you can’t enjoy love or wealth! So what’s the damn point of doing anything without optimal health?!?

The easiest way to boost all three factors is to focus on your own health.

When you start feeling good, looking good, and your mind is clear, THINGS STARTS GETTING DONE.

And a person who handles their things and improves their life is SEXY AS HELL.

Ready to make an amazing investment in yourself with a tried and tested program that has helped 100’s and 100’s of people lose weight and get the body they’ve always wanted? Try it! You have nothing to lose. (I believe so strongly in it – I offer a 100% money back-guarantee.)

There’s a story about a guy who attends a weight loss seminar, and complains to the keynote speaker that, despite trying everything, he can’t lose weight.

“You’ve tried everything?” asks the speaker.

“Everything,” the guy replies.

“What were the last hundred things you tried?” asks the speaker.

“Well,” the guy admits, “I haven’t actually tried a hundred things.”

“Then what were the last twenty-five things you did?” asks the speaker.

“I haven’t tried twenty-five things, really, either,” the guy responds.

“So how many things have you actually tried?” asks the speaker.

“Well,” says the guy, sheepishly, “maybe five or six.”

When Greg first signed up, he told me he had tried everything and nothing worked. Naturally that excited me. It’s always fun to see if MBT is as effective as I believe/know it is.

What happened?

After a week of working with him he wanted to quit! And remember before Greg started, he had told me that no matter what he’s done in the past, he couldn’t lose weight?

I was astonished.

You know why?

In our first week together, we LOST 3 pounds!

This is truly fascinating to me…

But this is all part of human behavior. This is what keeps me so interested in this game.

I love exploring the psychological reasons behind our actions. After all, it’s ALL psychological.

Let’s talk about cognitive dissonance. This happens when we have two conflicting desires. For example, smoking. It is well known that smoking cigarettes can cause lung cancer yet every person I’ve ever met wants to live a long, healthy and fit life.

The uncomfortable tension caused by these two opposing ideas is known as dissonance. As humans, we look to get rid of this uncomfortable feeling. This is known as dissonance reduction.

The only way to get rid of this uncomfortable feeling is by a) quitting smoking b) denying that people actually get sick from smoking or c) justifying and rationalizing.

For example, a smoker could rationalize their behavior by believing that few people get sick from smoking, it only happens to people who smoke more than they do, if smoking doesn’t kill them something else will, they’ll quit next year or they only live once and they deserve to smoke.

In essence, they either need to take action (quit smoking and get whatever help they need <—- this is very hard!) or they need to make themselves feel better by rationalizing their smoking – which is what most people do (<—this is much easier and that’s why most people do it).

Knowing this, let’s talk about why Greg who has “tried everything” to lose weight, and finally did with MBT, wants to quit the program.

I’ll tell you why:

F.E.A.R.

It comes down to either fear of change, fear of failure or fear of success.

Everything he says boils down to fear.

There’s an old saying that I love:

“The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed.”

In this case because Greg actually succeeded, he realized he was going to have to change for the long term. And unfortunately, real change is uncomfortable.

He got scared.

Because deep down, Greg wasn’t ready to really change. He didn’t think MBT would actually work. So he wasn’t prepared to let go of emotional eating.

In his mind, he needs to emotionally eat and he can’t imagine life without doing so.

His success made him fear the change.

So now, Greg is coming up with all sorts of excuses because he really doesn’t want to change. His main excuse is that it takes too much effort to submit a feedback every night.

Interesting.

Because he wants to change – but sorta doesn’t want to change – that’s causing a lot of dissonance or tension or discomfort (whatever you want to call it).

He has to get rid of that discomfort somehow…so he’ll find anything and latch on to it so he can ease the tension.

(Ahhh yes…submitting a feedback is a pain in the butt and it takes effort. Yes!!! Whew. Now I can rationalize my excuse – and not feel as bad and quit the program so I don’t have to change…because I’m really scared to change.)

The real problem ISN’T that it takes effort to submit a feedback. We make time for what’s important to us.

The real problem is that he doesn’t want to actually change. He rather just talk about changing. (We’ll work on this.)

Instead of criticizing or shaming him like so many people out there would do (because it’s the obvious and easy thing to do), it’s far more effective to help him understand his own behavior. (Shaming or criticizing never leads to long lasting change.)

Fighting human nature is silly.

Instead, when we understand what’s going on around us, it makes it a lot easier to call it what it is and move on.

##

Let’s face it. It were easy to change, people would do it.

It’s the daily and personal accountability, support, coaching, and guidance combined with our proven program and system that helps the change occur.

Got a question about the MBT program? Feel free to message me. I read and reply to every email. I live for your success!

I hope everyone on the East Coast is okay from the hurricane. I know some of us are still without power. What a crazy week we’ve had! First it was an Earthquake and then it was a hurricane.

I often think about babies (relax mom, I know you want more grandkids). And it’s amazing to me that we all start off as a blank slate loaded with nothing BUT potential. Sure, we have our natural temperament – but we’re also who we are because of our surrounding environments. Our fears, hopes, and dreams are all impacted by this.

What if somehow, someway, our memory of our selves was erased?

We wouldn’t have any limiting beliefs or self defeating thoughts…

All of our failures, screw ups and mistakes would be gone from our brain.

In fact, no matter what our past has been like, we have a SPOTLESS future.

Sounds amazing right?

Of course, having our memories erased is not doable. So…

Instead, I’m going on a vacation. I can REALLY use it after all the crazy weather. But I want you to join me on the vacation!

Well, I’m not really going on vacation. I’m taking a vacation from myself.

There are still many things I do that I want to change. Many habits, actions, etc.

**

For example, what’s the first thing you do when you have an intense craving for chocolate?

Do you give in? Or do you reach for fruit? What if for just a week or just for the next 2 days you only reached for fruit?

Do you wake up as early as you want to? What if for just the next 3 days you woke up a tad earlier?

Do you cook yourself a healthy breakfast? What if for just the next 3 days you made yourself a healthy breakfast?

Do you submit your Daily Feedback right after your last meal? What if for the next 5 days, as soon as you’re done with dinner you flossed, brushed your teeth, used mouth wash then did the dishes and then logged on and filled out your feedback? (Close that kitchen!)

What if you submitted your feedback even before dinner so you have to eat what you said you were going to eat!? (The more we can mentally rehearse what we’re going to eat, the better.)

Do you keep all of your promises? What if for just a week, you kept every promise you made to others AND yourself?

What if for just a week, you didn’t give in to any impulses and only ate whole, natural and real food?

Can I go on and on? Yes. But I think we get the point. I’m not asking you to do these things forever.

BUT, I’m asking you to try it for a week. 5 days! Actually, let’s make it for just the next TWO days.

And I want you to see how you feel after 2 days. We’re taking a vacation from ourselves!

So if you do something that you want to change, instead of talking about it or writing about it, let’s just be about it and THEN write about it! Starting this very moment!

Remember: act as if you were born today. Anything IS possible for the next two days. Why? We don’t know any better.

See you in paradise!

P.S. Speaking of being born today, I’m EXTREMELY excited to welcome my second nephew, Myles Joseph to this crazy, amazing and miraculous game called life. He was born this morning and weighs 7 pounds. Thankfully, both my nephew and sister are doing great!

I’d like to introduce you to a VERY scientific term I like to call: “The Difference”.

One of my favorite lunch foods is tuna. I grew up on it. It happens to be very healthy too. (Of course, like anything, moderation is key. Gotta watch out for the Mercury.)

On the weekends, I like to make myself some tuna salad. I add mayo and celery and sometimes carrots. It’s delicious!

Call me what you want…

When I was in 5th grade, I decided (under no one’s influence but mine) to cut out soda completely from my diet. What does a 5th grader who idolized Michael Jordan replace it with? Gatorade! And then in 6th grade, I realized how much sugar was in Gatorade so I limited my Gatorade intake to only when I was playing basketball, and drank water with everything else.

Around that time…

I heard about light mayo so I started using it. “Ohhh tuna and light mayo, this is unbeatable now!”

Or so I thought.

After a little while, I was no longer eating tuna fish. Why? I couldn’t stomach the taste of light mayo.

It took me a while to realize this but finally I chucked the light mayo and went back to regular mayo. Once again, I was as happy as ever with my tuna.

I realized “The Difference” right then and there. Some foods aren’t negotiable. Mayo happens to be one of them for ME (maybe not for you though).

But if you ask me to choose between a beef burger or turkey burger 90% of the time, I’m just as happy with the turkey burger.

If you ask me to choose between a whole wheat bun and regular bun, I’m just as happy with the whole wheat bun.

If you ask me to choose between frozen yogurt and ice cream, I’m just as happy with the frozen yogurt.

There’s many examples where the healthier version is just as good. Sometimes it’s even BETTER! Many times, “The Difference” isn’t all that different. And it’s definitely worth it to choose the healthier version.

And for some foods “The Difference” is NOT worth it. No matter what, I need the real deal version.

Is there a lighter version of something you eat?

Examples:

Egg whites instead of whole eggs?

Turkey bacon instead of regular bacon?

Baked chips instead of regular chips?

Dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate?

Turkey hot dogs instead of regular hot dogs

Baked chicken instead of fried chicken?

Skim milk instead of whole milk?

Think about that this week.

Seek “The difference” when possible!

If it acts likes a duck all the time, it’s a duck. It doesn’t matter if the duck thinks it’s a cat.

It’s still a duck as far as the rest of us are concerned.

I find myself telling people to ‘be’ who they want to be. I also find myself saying ‘act’ the way you want to feel.

The problem with ‘being’ though is it’s too ambiguous. What does ‘be’ actually mean?

‘Act’ on the other hand is actionable.

Doing is possible. But ‘being’?

We could spend our time wondering if what we say we are is really us. Or, we could just act like that all of the time.

##

Without a system of support and accountability, it’s very hard to keep acting the way you want to. Why? Well, we’re incredibly good at making excuses and rationalizing our excuses.

BUT, with a system of accountability, maniacal support and a proven program and methods to help you MBT makes it WAY more doable. It becomes a question of WHEN we reach your goals, NOT if.

Helen, a client from JAPAN!, has a special request.

She writes to me, “I wonder if you could give some ideas about how to maintain a sense of purpose and discipline without feeling like you are holding your breath all the time. I’ve heard the phrase ‘relaxed mastery’ somewhere and I have it when I teach my students. I think you know what I’m driving at; could you write something on it?”

Let’s take a shot:

I’ve struggled with the question, ‘What’s the purpose of life?’ for a long time. I’ve come to the conclusion that our purpose in life is to be happy, and to help other people be happy. (I also think a big part of being truly happy is overcoming our fears. But again – it comes back to happiness.)

[Your purpose may be entirely different. That's okay!]

What makes me happy, might not make you happy. We’re all wired differently. The problem with being ‘happy’ though is that it’s elusive. I’d argue that everyone reading this is ‘happy’.

Once our physiological and safety needs are met, we’re fortunate enough to focus on self-actualization. (Read: Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs.)

So the question then isn’t how do I become happy, but how do I become happier?

When I was in 7th grade, I never really knew why I was working out in my room at 10:30 at night after doing my home work, after basketball practice. I just knew that I had to or else I didn’t feel right – even though my mom and sister thought I was CRAZY.

I’ve realized that working out made me happier – even in 7th grade.

People ask me how I’m so disciplined, and for me it’s about happiness. I’ve written and thought a lot about happiness because I believe that’s why we do everything.

[I can understand how people can think all of the happiness talk is silly and all new-agey. But if we ask ourselves why we do anything, it always comes back to happiness. I'm very happy. But why not be as happy as I can be?]

We’re slaves to our happiness. However, I think there’s a big difference between pleasure and happiness and many times we become slaves to pleasure.

I think our actions make us happy in the short term and many times our actions will (hopefully) make us happier in the long term. Here’s the challenge we all face: If we’re working to be happier in the long term, what are we now?

Well, that’s the paradox we all face. Happiness doesn’t always bring happiness – at least in the short term.

When I started MBT I did it because I had to. Ultimately, because I knew it would make me happier. But there’s been many days where I’d wonder why in the world I had to do this. Many days that are stressful and frustrating.

It’s like studying to become a doctor. All of my friends in medical school are miserable, right now. Eventually, they’ll (hopefully!) be very happy when they’re actually practicing.

So for me, it has become a journey of figuring out what makes me happier and what makes me unhappy. I’ve even created a daily happiness check list for myself.

Here’s the thing: I’m relentless with myself on things that make me happier. I’ll spend and invest whatever it takes. Time/attention/money/sweat/etc.

Most people view every dollar they spend as an expense. But it’s not an expense because expenses don’t pay dividends. Feeling happier certainly does though.

Just because I’ve identified what makes me happier on a daily basis, doesn’t mean I always do it. Knowing is one thing. Application is another.

One of the things I’ve learned with my work through MBT is that us adults are kids – just older in age. We can’t transform into the person we want to become overnight. We can’t sidestep ourselves. We must go through ourselves.

And even if we transform ourselves, it doesn’t mean our past ghosts won’t haunt us. We just become better at managing and dealing with them.

Just because someone quits smoking, doesn’t mean they won’t ever crave a cigarette again.

To me, relaxed mastery means how do I master something so I’m not obsessive about it. Or I’m not constantly killing myself or walking on egg shells so to speak.

The key, I think, is to focus on how you want to feel. Let that guide each choice you make. The problem though is that sometimes we make choices based on short term impulses and pleasure vs. happiness.

I would guess that teaching feels easy because it feels good in the moment. You can connect with your students. The challenge for us is that eating salty, sugary and fatty foods feels good in the moment too. I’ve never denied this.

But eating healthful foods feels even better! That’s the twist we must not forget (and often do).

As much fun as eating ice cream and watching TV is, deep down I have more fun (and feel happier!) when I’m eating healthfully and moving around.

The battles get easier and easier but they’re still battles. The only way to master anything is to first decide that you’re going to, and then fight like hell every single day to make that happen doing whatever it takes, surrounding yourself with whatever it takes, to make it happen.

Choosing that feels happier. Not fighting like hell doesn’t.

I hope this helps. If you have a special request for a topic, feel free to shoot me an email. I love hearing from you!

Sayonara,

Hahahaha! I have to laugh with a subject line like that but I know it’s the truth…

Thankfully, it’s only temporary.

As Dorie eloquently wrote a while back…”sometimes she hates me.” (Thankfully, a wise woman always told me that hate is the closest thing to love so I don’t get offended.)

Question for ya: Ever give a friend relationship advice, and as soon as you finish telling him/her they get all defensive and mad? Sometimes, they even start yelling back at you! Well, as insane as that is, it’s because most of us want to be told what we want to hear…not what we NEED to hear.

As my brother in law always says, there’s two types of good. Good and good for nothing! (That’s how I feel about advice.)

But let’s talk about why I’m annoying. What got me thinking was a phone call I had last night with a client.

We’ll call him “Mikey”. Mikey joined MBT wanting to get in shape for his wedding day. He told me he has started countless diets before, and always does good for the first few pounds or so…and then falls off track, like most of us do.

Well Mikey has been DOMINATING! We had lost 20+ pounds, and he was as motivated and determined as ever.

And then…

And then slowly but surely, he has become too busy to submit his feedback every night. Slowly but surely, he’s happy that he is maintaining his weight instead of losing it.

So last night, when we spoke, I asked him what was going on, and why he hasn’t been submitting his feedback regularly for the last week or so.

He basically said, “It’s kinda annoying. And that he’s really busy.”

Boom! So much truth…

Mikey is smart enough to know what he’s doing. He’s a smart guy. But I explained to him why he’s doing it.

I love exploring the psychological reasons behind our actions. After all, it’s ALL psychological…

*****

In essence, they either need to take action (quit smoking and get whatever help they need <---- this is very hard!) or they need to make themselves feel better by rationalizing their smoking which is what most people do (<---this is much easier and that's why most people do it).

Knowing this, let's talk about why Mikey is finding MBT annoying as of late. <----that's my sad face.

I'll tell you why:

F.E.A.R.

It comes down to either fear of change, fear of failure or fear of success.

There's an old saying I love:

"The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed."

In this case, because Mikey was DOMINATING, he realized he was going to have to change for the long term. And unfortunately, real change is uncomfortable.

He got scared.

Because deep down, he wasn't totally prepared to let go of emotional eating.

In his mind, he needs to emotionally eat and he can't imagine life without doing so...

His success made him fear the change.

So what do we do if we're Mikey?

We have to reduce the dissonance because when there is a disconnect between what we really WANT to do (eating right, exercising, etc.,) and what we're ACTUALLY doing, uncomfortable feelings and unhappiness ensue.

Because he doesn't want to feel that dissonance or discomfort or resistance (whatever you want to call it) he has to remove the accountability. By submitting every night, it was making him feel bad. (Not to toot my own horn but this is precisely WHY MBT works so well. That's what accountability does. It holds our feet to the fire. Okay...sorry. The self promotion train is leaving. Choo! Choo!)

Mikey was coming up with all sorts of excuses because he didn't want to face the discomfort anymore. His main excuse? He was too busy to submit his feedback every night. Interesting.

He has to get rid of that discomfort somehow...so he'll find anything and latch on to it so he can ease the tension. (Ahhh yes...submitting a feedback is a pain in the butt and it takes time. And it's annoying! Yes! Whew. Now I can rationalize my excuse - and not feel bad.)

Of course, I know Mikey doesn't REALLY think MBT is annoying. Annoying is a code word for the discomfort and resistance he's facing.

(Quick note on being too busy. We're all too busy for a lot of things but somehow I manage to watch plenty of reality TV every week. My personal favorite: I'm proud to say is The Real Housewives. They're ALL addicting! Ugh.)

The real problem ISN'T that it takes too much time to submit a feedback. We make time for what's important to us.

The real problem is that he can't imagine staying consistent for the long term. Why? Because he's never stayed consistent for the long term! What he WAS doing was sabotaging himself. I'm thrilled to say Mikey is back on track now.

My next inspiration will talk about self-sabotage and why we do it - so we can prevent it from happening to you.

Instead of criticizing or shaming him like so many people out there would do (because it's the obvious and easy thing to do), it's far more effective to help him understand his own behavior. (Shaming or criticizing never leads to long lasting change.)

Fighting human nature is silly.

Instead, when we understand what's going on around us, it makes it a lot easier to call it what it is and move on...and start dominating again!

When “Seven” (we’ll use that as the fake name) first signed up, he told me he had tried everything and nothing worked. Naturally that excited me. It’s always fun to see if MBT is as effective as I think/know it is.

What happened?

After a week of working with him he wanted to quit! And remember before Seven started – he had told me that no matter what he’s done in the past, he couldn’t lose weight.

In essence, they either need to take action (quit smoking and get whatever help they need <---- this is very hard!) or they need to make themselves feel better by rationalizing their smoking – which is what most people do (<---this is much easier and that's why most people do it).

Knowing this, let's talk about why Seven who has "tried everything" to lose weight, and finally did with MBT, wants to quit the program.

I'll tell you why:

F.E.A.R.

It comes down to either fear of change, fear of failure or fear of success.

Everything he says boils down to fear.

There's an old saying that I love:

"The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed."

In this case because Seven actually succeeded, he realized he was going to have to change for the long term. And unfortunately, real change is uncomfortable.

He got scared.

Because deep down, Seven wasn't ready to really change. He didn't think MBT would actually work. So he wasn't prepared to let go of emotional eating.

In his mind, he needs to emotionally eat and he can't imagine life without doing so.

His success made him fear the change.

So now, Seven's coming up with all sorts of excuses because he really doesn't want to change. His main excuse is that it takes too much effort to submit a feedback every night. Interesting.

Because he wants to change - but sorta doesn't want to change - that's causing a lot of dissonance or tension or discomfort (whatever you want to call it).

He has to get rid of that discomfort somehow...so he'll find anything and latch on to it so he can ease the tension.

(Ahhh yes...submitting a feedback is a pain in the butt and it takes effort. Yes!!! Whew. Now I can rationalize my excuse - and not feel as bad and quit the program so I don't have to change...because I'm really scared to change.)

The real problem ISN'T that it takes effort to submit a feedback. We make time for what's important to us.

The real problem is that he doesn't want to actually change. He rather just talk about changing. (We’ll work on this.)

Next time, we’ll talk about change.

##

If you haven’t been able to get the body you want something is holding you back. And it’s probably not what you think it is. We’re incredibly talented at sabotaging ourselves. That’s why daily support, accountability and motivation is so important. MBT will help you understand your own psychology so you can finally end the sabotage and get the results you want – or, your money back.

Last night a new client asked me if change was really possible.

Well, change is not only possible, it’s inevitable. The world is changing every day. And so are our bodies whether we want them to or not. (We’re either going forwards or backwards.)

I think what she really means is change really possible for her – because she’s scared of not being able to put forth the effort change requires.

Instead, of letting the thought of the word ‘change’ terrify you, why not focus on micro changes?

How about exercising for an extra 2 minutes? How about exercising for a total of 2 minutes?

How about waiting 5 minutes before you give in to eating junk food as opposed to eating it right away?

How about cooking one extra meal per week?

How about waking up 10 minutes earlier?

How about making your lunch?

How about drinking a glass of water with each meal?

How about emailing me every time you have a relentless craving?

How about starting your meal with either salad or veggies?

How about for just one meal per day, you make your meal last more than 20 minutes?

All of these are simple things that can and will lead to your success.

And best of all, change begets change. Small changes eventually turn into enormous changes.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, right?

The only way to get to where we want to be is to change. We can’t just go from the person you are now, to the person you want to be without changing anything.

And when you’re feeling overwhelmed, think micro.

What micro changes can you make today? Tomorrow? This week?

##

If you’re ready to add the support and accountability we all need to ensure your changes stick, consider joining MyBodyTutor. It’s the proven program that excels at helping you stick with your diet and exercise plans. Because after all, what good is any positive change – if we don’t stick with it? Sticking with it is where all the results come from!

And in case you’re worried if MBT will work for you, I offer a 100% money back guarantee. There is literally ZERO risk for you to try it. What are you waiting for?

Pierre Reverdy said, “There is no love; there are only proofs of love.”

I love that quote.

When I first read that it immediately made me think, “There is no being healthy
and fit; there are only proofs of being healthy and fit.”

We can say we are something – but unless we act, and ultimately do, we’re not
anything. Ugh! But it’s so much easier to just say we are than it is to do,
right?

If we want to be a certain way, then focus on acting a certain way. Eventually,
if we act that way enough – we’ll wind up being that way.

When I got the inspiration to start this service (over 4 years ago now), I was
at Ernst & Young. And after spewing advice to partners and colleagues and
clients, I realized something:

Everyone wants to be healthy and fit.

But, not everyone is.

Instead of focusing on being healthy and fit this week, focus on proofs of
being healthy and fit.

As I always say, it’s not a question of if – it’s a question of when we’ll get
to where you want to be – if we take this meal by meal, workout by workout and
day by day.

And that means focusing on proofs of being healthy and fit moment by moment.

When we’re faced with a challenging moment, it’s important to question
ourselves so we can remember what it is we really want but sometimes forget.

So, for the rest of the week, let’s try asking ourselves this question:
“What would a healthy and fit person do right now?”

Then do it.

Boom.

There is our proof.

–
What would a brutally honest person do right now? Well, they’d base their future on their past behavior – and if they have trouble staying consistent with their diet and/or exercise – they’d get themselves some support and accountability to ensure they actually stick with it.

We always say things like, “I’m going to start going to the gym 3 times this week,” or, “I’m going to start eating healthfully and stop eating junk,” but we’ve done this before — and our past behavior suggests that we never follow through.

A brutally honest person would stop deluding themselves. Because, sometimes, the hardest part about solving a problem is admitting that you have one in the first place.

If you’re ready to admit you have a consistency problem (like so many of us do) consider joining MyBodyTutor.com. It’s a 100% money back guaranteed proven program.
