"Adam, I really want to be in better shape," or, "I wish I had more energy," or, "I want to lose weight,” or, “I want to pack on lean muscle.”
The goals were always the same and so were the outcomes, unfortunately.
"For the first few days, I really enjoyed the diet and exercise plan that you made for me but then I got too busy with school or my job or my kids or my friends or my favorite reality TV"...and on and on.
It was January of 2007. At that time I had been at Ernst & Young for over 2 years in their hedge fund and private equity practice and I was becoming just like all of the people I’d given advice to.
And after hearing the same excuse (from myself and other people) for the millionth time, I realized something.
Everyone wants to be healthy and fit, but unfortunately, it’s just too easy to make excuses and procrastinate. It's even easier to lie to ourselves and to rationalize poor eating and lack of exercise. (Especially, after a long day!)
Something had to be done. I set out to create a program that would solve this problem in a big way. I had to follow my passions. I love helping people, I love writing, and I am a health and fitness fanatic (since I was in 4th grade).
I married my passions with entrepreneurship and created the company of my dreams; MyBodyTutor!
Although, I had many fights with my mom about leaving my safe and secure job (“What are you crazy, Adam?!” was all I ever heard), I needed to do what I loved doing, and I wanted to make a difference. As corny as it sounds, I want to change the world.
It turns out we are…one client at a time. I know that when you feel and look as good as you can, you are happier, more productive, confident and energized.
It was the best decision I have ever made but people still ask me all the time, “How did you have the courage to leave your job?”
1. My sister always used food as an escape for a lot of stressful situations she encountered.
My parents got divorced when she was 9 years old. (I was 4.) I always used to hear her scream and cry whenever she'd get ready for big events because she hated how she felt and looked.
At times, she'd starve herself and other times she'd just binge. She yo-yo dieted for years and her weight reflected it.
The sad part is that many girls and guys have similar experiences as my sister, no matter what size they are. Life is way too short to experience that ever again. Life is way too short to be unhappy about how you feel and look!
2. My dad had a heart attack that led into a triple bypass surgery. Not long after that (when I was in 7th grade) he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
I want to help people enjoy their health and fitness. And while some diseases are not preventable, many are! I want to help form healthy habits for now and the rest of their life. Why? Because health IS truly wealth. All the success in the world means nothing without our health and fitness.
3. I believe in my program 100%. More so than anything I have ever done.
After all, I did quit my full time job for this. I sure as heck better have believed in what I was offering. I know consistency is the key to your success and I sincerely believe my program will you stay consistent like no other service in the world. My belief only grows stronger every day. (Just read some the success stories, testimonials, and what the press is saying because of the results we're getting for our clients.)
I truly hope you give us a shot. That’s all I can ask for. Because I’m certain you will love what MyBodyTutor is all about, or your money back.
I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully getting the opportunity to help you get the body you want.
