It’s time to begin establishing Healthy Patterns
Now you have different methods for identifying, acknowledging, and bringing to the surface the emotions that have sabotaged you in the past. Find some activities or hobbies that comfort and interest you so that you don’t have to resort to food.
Besides eating what soothes you? What makes you feel beautiful/handsome or sexy and desirable? Steer yourself toward these positive feelings of self-worth and pick activities and behaviors that inherently contradict self-loathing and self-destructiveness.
Take a bubble bath and listen to music you love. Go for a long walk. Go out with friends. Get a massage or a manicure/pedicure. Go to the gym and get that invincible feeling no matter how badly you don’t want to go!
Learn to reward and nurture yourself with activities that make you feel good about being alive, and you will break the cycle of self-destruction caused by emotional overeating.
