Matt B.

I have lost 39 pounds since I started working with Adam. I'm so much stronger, I have more endurance and energy, and I like the way I look in pictures and in the mirror. I feel good about myself. I'm proud of myself. I'm currently training for a half marathon and loving every second of it.

If Matt can do it with MBT you can too. Yes, YOU! (No, we're not yelling. We just really believe in what we do.)

[I've had a few people ask me why his tattoos are on different sides so perhaps you're wondering the same thing. I know it's confusing but the before was taken facing a mirror, so the image is reversed. The after was taken by someone else.]

The Problem

Matt is a busy musician and came to us on a mission: he wanted to lose weight so that he could become the rocker he always dreamed about. But he didn't want to sacrifice his "rock star" lifestyle all that much. Matt performs early into the mornings and is always touring, so I knew it'd be a challenge. However, there's no challenge we can't conquer at MBT because daily and personal accountability truly rocks!

The Action Plan

I worked very hard with Matt to determine what his "non-negotiables" were. At first, he didn't want to give up all that much and that was okay. He wanted the drinking and the bar food that came along with it. After helping Matt discover why he wanted those foods in the first place we came up with strategies that were sustainable and satisfying. I knew we'd get to where he wanted to be and then some, without Matt having to sacrifice his rock star lifestyle altogether.

Being that he's extremely busy going from gig to gig and job to practice and rehearsal to the studio, his workouts had to be realistic and mobile. He promised me he'd submit his feedback every night and I promised him that soon enough he'd look like the rocker he always dreamed about.

Why it Worked (in his words)

Winters in Chicago can be brutal. Most people stay inside to avoid the cold, and the shorter days end up making you sleep, drink, and eat more than normal. Then, once spring rolls around and you can no longer hide inside giant, puffy coats, you start to realize just how much weight you've put on. That was the situation I found myself in after a particularly rough winter.

I didn't consider myself "fat", but I knew I didn't look and feel the way I wanted to. I am a musician and perform regularly around the Chicago land area, and I started seeing pictures of me from shows posted online and I looked terrible. You don't see too many pudgy, out of shape front men out there, and I knew I had to do something about it.

My weight had fluctuated for the past 8 years. I had lost a lot of weight back in college but steadily put some of it back on over the years that followed. I tried the South Beach diet for a while and it worked for me, but no one can deny all carbs forever... that's not fun and it's not that healthy. Eventually, I deviated from the South Beach diet and the weight I had lost came right back on. A couple of years passed, I put on more weight, and that's when I found myself unhappy and looking for a change.

I saw a write up for MyBodyTutor.com in a newsletter I subscribe to, and I went and checked it out. It seemed pretty straightforward, and everything I read on the site was inspiring and exciting. I started talked with Adam on a Sunday about the program, went out to the store and bought a bunch of healthy food, and haven't looked back since.

The diet was simple and made sense. Sticking to it wasn't difficult, and after a couple of weeks of eating right, I started really enjoying the foods I was eating. I felt better, I had more energy, and I never felt overly full or weighed down. Likewise, after the first couple of weeks in the gym, I really started to enjoy my workouts. I liked the way I felt afterwards. I started to like the way I felt during.  I started noticing that I was losing fat and gaining muscle.  Long story short, I have completely reshaped my body.

I was always under the impression that genetically it was impossible for me to have the perfect body that I wanted. Wrong. My whole problem before was that I didn't know how to eat properly, and I wasn't exercising consistently. Plain and simple, that's it, and that's at the center of what MyBodyTutor does for you. Adam gives you the knowledge you need to eat the right things and get the most out of your workouts.

But most importantly, he makes sure you're staying on top of your diet and exercise routine, and that you're being consistent.  Consistency is key, and that is what MyBodyTutor provides for me.

The schedule I keep in my life is insane.  I write and record original music, I perform solo acoustic shows, and I front a successful Chicago hard rock cover band.  I keep a lot of late nights, and along with that comes a lot of booze and 3am trips to late night Mexican restaurants.  The beauty of MyBodyTutor is that it fits right in with my crazy schedule. Adam didn't make me start going to bed at 9pm, or stop drinking completely, or stop eating late night food.  He just showed me ways I can make healthier choices alongside my crazy lifestyle. Working out and eating right throughout the week allows me a little bit of room to enjoy myself on the weekends.

I have lost 39 pounds since I started working with Adam. I'm so much stronger, I have more endurance and energy, and I like the way I look in pictures and in the mirror. I feel good about myself. I'm proud of myself. I'm currently training for a half marathon and loving every second of it.

Simply put, my life has changed completely as a direct result of working with Adam and MyBodyTutor.  I cannot express how grateful I am for the service he provides.  The sky truly is the limit for what you can accomplish with Adam and MyBodyTutor in your corner.

What did you say to yourself as you were reading Matt’s story?

It’s fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person. We find something they have that we don’t. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can’t achieve the same level of success.

The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.

Here’s the best part: I guarantee it or your money back. I sincerely believe in what we offer that much. I know MBT will be the last program you ever do or need.
