I had just moved, started a new job, and the pandemic had just hit. I was stress-eating way too much, followed by being in a state of very real physical discomfort because of overeating.

I feared that if I tried dieting and counting calories again, it would be the way it was the last time when I was just constantly hungry, frustrated, miserable, and worried about my meals every waking hour (yikes!). That was a mental prison of sorts that I did not want to return to.

On top of it, I am an Indian immigrant, and I love Indian food, and that was just not something I ever saw included in meal planning that was on offer online. I am also the proud owner of the biggest sweet tooth on the planet, and I was afraid I would have to essentially give up every food that I enjoyed.

I have tried cutting calories severely and even tried out multiple big-time NYC nutritionists who gave me meal plans. Neither of those worked for me in a meaningful way because both of them were severe and sudden lifestyle changes that I tried to adopt with little to no knowledge of nutrition. It was extremely difficult to keep up with them, and I ended up gaining all the weight back faster than I had lost it.

When I found MyBodyTutor, the daily accountability part sounded really good to me. The fact that I would get feedback from someone who understood nutrition and was willing to understand how my life was structured gave me hope that someone would help me solve this puzzle that I have been trying to solve all my life.

But I wasn't sure if I was disciplined enough for it. I mean, I had tried so much in the past and failed to keep up because life would get in the way somehow. I wasn't sure if I would drop the ball yet again, and this would end up being another financially silly decision.

I am happy to report that my hopes have not only been met, they have been exceeded! I lost my goal weight (20 lbs) and lost 2.5 inches off my waist, which is pretty sweet! However, what is truly fantastic is that I no longer stress out about food and that I feel energized and ready to go after each of my meals.

I have not given up a single food item that I enjoy, but I have gained a mindfulness around indulgences. Also, I legitimately enjoy salads and exercising now. If you had told me I would like those things a year ago, I would have called you straight up crazy.

To add to this, no curveball throws me off balance. I have my routine, but I also know how to manage it when I am on vacation or out celebrating. And I still get stressed out, but my coaches have helped me find more productive ways to deal with that. I am so grateful to Adam and my coaches Sarah and Dena for this. I am a happier and more easygoing person now, and I just feel so...free.
