Hi! I’m Angie, and I’m so excited to help you take the next step in your health and wellness journey!

A little bit about me first! I grew up in the thick of diet culture, where 100-calorie snacks and 0 points were king! I would focus so much on calorie counting, that I didn’t realize that a large majority of my foods were extremely lacking in nutrients! I moved from diet to diet…if there was a book about it, I tried it.

Initially, I would lose some weight, but as soon as I started to eat normal again, I would gain it all back! (Because honestly, who can eat ricotta cheese with chocolate chips on top and pretend like that’s dessert for the rest of their lives?) Not only did I do every crazy diet out there, but I also forced myself to do hours of cardio to “burn off” as many calories as I could! Needless to say, I was exhausted.

Outside of my desire to lose weight, I had also realized that my family tree was chock full of chronic disease, and I knew that I didn’t want that to be my story. Yet another reason I became obsessed with every new diet trend out there. It wasn’t until I had gained over 60 pounds with pregnancy that it all finally clicked, and I realized that the most sustainable weight loss was the kind that didn’t force restriction. I was able to lose 60 pounds by nourishing my body and strength training, and not once did I feel deprived.

During my weight loss journey, I hired a nutrition coach that helped me not only lose the weight, but also worked on my mindset surrounding food and my body. This is what I found to be the key to help keep off the weight, and to thrive in a body that was my weight pre-baby but still a bit different looking than before.

I then decided that I wanted to help other people do the same thing, so I became a certified nutrition coach and personal trainer! My passion is to teach others how to have the healthiest mindset possible in order to make weight loss sustainable. And that is where MyBodyTutor comes in!

The approach MyBodyTutor takes to weight loss lined up exactly with my approach (it’s all about the mindset)! I'll help you reach your goal through education (the more you know about the “why” of the process, the better) and encouragement. You can expect some discomfort here and there, but I promise this is where true progress happens! And progress is our goal! I’m here and ready to help you in any way I can!
