A fun read on relationships, weight loss and work
Can I be real with you guys?
I love real talk.
I have some friends who are a bit delusional about the nature of relationships.
I think Hollywood perpetuates this idea that relationships are supposed to be rainbows and butterflies all the time. This leaves some people feeling like something is wrong, or they need to jump ship, the second it’s not.
Are you serious??
It usually comes down to them feeling bored.
I always challenge them with the question: When was the last time you did something new and exciting together?
“Ummm….” as they’re trying to think of something.
How can you expect to feel excited if you’re doing the same thing every weekend?
This is an example of real talk. Telling it like it is. Poking a hole in the delusions we tell ourselves.
The truth is: Relationships aren’t always rainbows and butterflies. In fact, hearing this from a happily married man seems to help them a lot — because some people truly believe that relationships are supposed to be an episode of The Bachelor 24/7/365.
THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR IS HERE.
It’s the other new year. Our kids are going back (or starting) school. It’s a blank slate loaded with nothing but potential.
We’re all filled with motivation and thinking things like, “This is the school year I will__________!”
I refuse to let this be just like every school year for you. You know, starting off strong only to fizzle out by October.
Why does it happen?
It’s the same reason why gyms are packed in January and empty in February. People are relying on motivation, which doesn’t last.
“If only I could stick to my diet and exercise plan…”
Ha! I’ve heard this thousands of times throughout the years. We all know the power of consistency.
It never fails.
If you need help being consistent in a certain area of your life: GET IT! It’ll change your life. Just like it has for all of these people.
People just like you who knew they needed help being consistent with their diet and/or exercise – otherwise, they would’ve done it already.
Whatever challenge / issue you face that is preventing you from being consistent:
-You’re an emotional/stress/mindless eater
-You eat well all day but binge at night
-You exercise regularly but can’t seem to eat well
-You exercise regularly but your body looks the same (hint: diet is 80% of the battle so you’re not being consistent with your diet and/or you’re not eating as well as you think you are)
-You do well for a week or two but then revert back to old ways
-You have no motivation
-You lose motivation
-You love food and don’t want to give it up (hint: You don’t have to! We teach you how to be fit and happy, not fit and miserable.)
Whatever your challenge / issue, we can help you. It’s what we do.
We’ll help you get through anything and everything. Most importantly, we’ll help you overcome it so you don’t revert back to your old ways.
Real talk: If you need help….get help. If nothing changes, nothing will change. It’s delusional to think you’re going to change for the long term if the only thing changing is the date.
As 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman said, “Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder, but nobody want to lift no heavy-ass weights.”
Everyone wants to look and feel amazing but some people don’t want to do the work.
The truth is: Nothing will work unless you do.
HOWEVER, when you have the right plan in place + daily accountability + daily support + all sorts of tips, strategies and frameworks the work is a lot easier. It truly makes all the difference.
The work is a lot easier when you have new habits and behaviors around food and exercise along with a new relationship with food so you no longer have to rely on willpower. (This is why MBT gets easier to stick with as time goes on, not harder as most diets/programs do.)
The work is a lot easier when you learn how to enjoy your favorite foods, guilt free, while losing weight. (Never indulging isn’t sustainable. Fit and happy is the goal, not fit and miserable.)
The work will be a lot easier when we help you overcome any mental barriers you might have such as fear of failure, fear of success, and identity (“I’m the person who always ________”), etc.
There’s a reason why people who’ve tried everything under the sun succeeded with MBT. (Click here to read Stephanie’s story of how she lost 155 pounds with MBT when nothing else worked.)
It’s amazing to me how many people seem to resonate with the idea of ‘work’…
[Warning: some of these songs have explicit lyrics]
As Rihanna sings: Work, work, work, work, work, work, work… (657 million views)
As Fifth Harmony sings: You don’t gotta go to work, work, work, work, work, work, work but you gotta put in work, work, work, work, work, work, work (880 million views)
As Britney Spears sings (I think this is singing): You want a hot body, You better work b*tch (226 million views)
That’s more than 1.7 BILLION (!) views for three songs with lyrics that are basically ‘work’ over and over again.
Yet, so many people want the pot of gold without having to work…I mean, walk…all the way to the end of the rainbow.
REAL TALK: We can’t expect results in any facet of life if we’re not willing to work. Work is a requirement. It’s the price of admission. I know for many this seems obvious. But for some, it’s not.
Once again, if you need help doing the work, get it. It will change your life.
Make this the last September you promise yourself, “This is the year that I will lose weight!” by joining MBT now. It’ll be one of the best decisions you ever make.
P.S. My goal from day one (back in February of 2007) has been to help people get AND keep the body they want. That’s why we offer lifetime maintenance for free, once you reach your goal. That is my commitment to your long term success. This way, you don’t have to deal with this over and over and over again.
Best of all: My program is guaranteed. I put my money where my words are. You have nothing to lose.
