Should I wait until after the holidays?

should i wait until after the holidays

I got this email from a client the other day, and I wanted to share it because I think we can all benefit.

Here’s the email:

“I am having second thoughts about continuing this through the holidays. Do you recommend putting this on hold until January?”

Putting this on hold until after the holidays is waiting for the coast to be clear…and it never will be.

There’s always things on the horizon that will challenge our eating. There’s never a perfect time.

This is all or nothing thinking, and it always leads to nothing. Besides, we’re not asking you to avoid your favorite foods. The goal is for you to be fit and happy, not fit and miserable. Never enjoying your favorite foods isn’t sustainable or desirable.

There has to be a balance between living for today and living for tomorrow.

As Laurie said, “Another thing to know is that this is not life without treats! The point is that when you do indulge it’s special and you enjoy it without guilt or regret.”

Just because we can’t be “perfect” all the time — which isn’t even attainable — doesn’t mean it’s not worth making the most of the routine meals.

The idea is to make the most of the routine meals/snacks so that when there is something special we can enjoy it, guilt free.

This is a choice by choice journey. Not a day by day one.

Consistency isn’t about starting and stopping. It’s about sticking with it, no matter what. It’s about making the most of the routine meals so that you’re able to enjoy the special ones. It’s about rolling with the punches through the good times and the tough times.
