If losing weight was easy, everyone would be thin (and likely going wild piggy on nachos and cheesecake every day). The brutal truth is that losing weight is hard. Really hard! Without the proper guidance, it’s an extremely chaotic experience that leads to short term results with long term problems.
Weight loss is usually driven by a single desire – to feel better. This was certainly my starting point. I wanted to feel better in my clothes, doing yoga and when eating. Being career driven in nature, I also wanted to ensure I had an eating strategy for business trips and extra-long days at the office.
For almost 30 years, I’ve been trying to lose those last 15 pounds and keep them off. I had tried many things (sometimes multiple times) including Jenny Craig, MyFitnessPal, nutrition counseling and SlimFast. The guiding advice of what to eat kept changing, and dramatically so. I surrendered to the realization that I actually had no idea how to successfully lose weight.
Enter the night I read page 94 of Gretchen Rubin’s “Better Than Before” (hardcover) book and learned about the methodology of My Body Tutor. My google search for nasty reviews and/or warnings about the company soon followed. Unbelievably there were none, which is unheard of when it comes to a weight loss company!
