The way I eat and think about food now is the way I can and willeat and think for the rest of my life.
Results ARE typical and to be expected with MyBodyTutor. See why at the end of this page.
If Julie can do it with MBT you can too. Yes, YOU! (No, we’re not yelling. We just really believe in what we do.)
How did you find out about us?
I came across MBT seemingly at random on the internet one day, and it caught my attention.
What have you tried in the past?
I’d tried various different diets in the past, including Atkins, Dukan, Weight Watchers and Slimming World. I had more success with some than others, but none which I managed to maintain once I’d lost the initial weight. And more often than not when the weight crept back on it was more than when I started. So I guess I was the typical yo-yo dieter.
Did you have any hesitations or doubts before joining?
Because I had come across MBT at random, I was a bit unsure of it, and the cost commitment was much more than other programmes I’d tried, so I emailed Adam plenty of questions to try to find out why I should go for this and how confident I could be that it would work for me.
I was also worried about how much time commitment there would be – I’d done other diets before which only worked because they had become all-consuming and everything else fell by the wayside – and that clearly wasn’t sustainable. Daily reporting felt like it could get the same way.
I was also a little apprehensive that my tutor would make me do loads of exercise that I wouldn’t enjoy. I’d started running a few years ago with the aim of losing weight but it had the opposite effect, so I’d given that up.
What were your hopes before joining?
I thought that the daily tutor support might be what I needed – someone to help me apply myself both on a day to day basis but also when on holiday and out socially or other challenges. And that it really might be possible for me to become fitter and healthier as I got older rather than the opposite!
What made you sign up MBT?
I eventually decided that if I didn’t invest in my own health now (approaching a significant birthday), I wouldn’t be in any position to enjoy my later years as things would be bound to get worse rather than better health-wise. Adam’s responses to my initial questions seemed encouraging, honest and helpful, and not sales-y in anyway, so I decided to give it a go.
How is MBT different from the billion and one other companies out there?
The biggest difference for me in what makes MBT work where others don’t, is a combination of the accountability, and the chance it gives you to really think through and understand why you do what you do around food. The close contact with your tutor really does give you a safety net to challenge and explore your actions and some of the underlying reasons for them. Initially I worried that this could be emotionally draining, but actually it was so helpful to have the time and space, without any judgement, to become more self-aware.
Results. How is your life is now? Were your hopes met?
I’ve lost 26kg, that’s just over 4 stone (57 lbs) (exceeding my target), and I’m within the healthy range for my BMI for the first time in years. I’ve dropped 3-4 dress sizes, and I have so much more energy that I just randomly run up stairs at work, something I would never have even contemplated before. And I know that I don’t have to “stop dieting and gradually reintroduce normal foods” again – the way I eat and think about food now is the way I can and will eat and think for the rest of my life.
So it is completely sustainable for the long term. There are no feelings of depriving myself, guilt, or any other negative thoughts. And I enjoy all the food I eat slowly and mindfully – eating has become so much more enjoyable. And my outlook on so many other things in my life has changed too – all for the better, because of what I learnt on my MBT journey.
Anything else that you think is worth sharing?
I have to say the constructive support and positive encouragement from my tutor has been just amazing – words cannot express how much she has helped me – she really did make all the difference to helping me achieve the success I have. Adam’s blog/emails continue to be thought-provoking, insightful and so helpful. A huge thank you to my coach and Adam for creating this brilliant and life-changing program. I will continue to recommend it to anyone who asks me how I lost the weight.

What did you say to yourself as you were reading Julie’s story?
It’s fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person. We find something they have that we don’t. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can’t achieve the same level of success.
The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.
Here’s the best part: I guarantee it or your money back. I sincerely believe in what we offer that much. I know MBT will be the last program you ever do or need.
