AlishaAs someone who has always been a high achiever and perfectionist, I naturally put 110% into everything I do, especially my job, without even thinking twice about it. And it paid off, I was a rising star at a fast-paced, high growth, medical device company. But instead of feeling happy and accomplished in my job, I felt stressed, miserable and pressured to rise up and take on more responsibility.

My mind was constantly racing. I started having trouble sleeping along with digestive issues. I was too exhausted to work out and by the time the weekend rolled around, I had zero desire for social interactions. Caffeine and sweets were the staples of my diet. I was irritable, overwhelmed and anxious all the time.

This is not the life I had imagined for myself. What happened to the person I used to be? Vibrant, energized, resilient, content, balanced.

I felt so isolated and that no one could relate to what I was going through, so I suffered alone for a long time. There were endless days I wished and prayed that my old self would return. And she did, but the transformation took time. Through the stress, struggle, anxiety and exhaustion, I learned so much about myself, my lifestyle and my habits. I mustered up the courage to call friends and family for support, I replaced caffeine and sugar with whole, nourishing foods and let food be my medicine. I took a hard look at my lifestyle, slowed down, got quiet and made changes in my daily practices.

Suffering through burnout was one of the hardest transformations I’ve ever had to endure on my own. But I’m so grateful for it because it led me to become a certified holistic health coach and ignited my passion to help others transform their lives through education, lifestyle changes, with support and accountability.

In working with me at My Body Tutor, I will teach you how to embrace change, uncover new parts of yourself and discover what you are truly capable of. If you feel a bit uneasy, uncertain, unsure, scared, worried, anxious, exhausted – you’ve come to the right place. I’ve got you! I am going to hold your hand at every step and we’re going to overcome obstacles together. On the other side is the best version of yourself, the person you’ve been dreaming of meeting for a long time.

Why did I wanted to join the team at MBT?

What attracted me to MBT was the passion, philosophy and individuality of the program. I knew immediately I wanted to be part of this team of coaches driven by our mission and passion to help people live healthier, fuller lives. Our philosophy at MBT is deeply rooted in psychology, science and education all the while ensuring the plan and process is specific for each individual’s needs, goals. The journey through transformation can be isolating and discouraging, but now I will be with you at every step – with encouragement during the tough moments when you want to give up and on the days when we’re both jumping for joy celebrating your goals met.
