JayneI’ve been a secretive emotional eater for 30 years. For all of those life milestones (school prom, graduation, getting married) I was overweight or obese. I knew I was overweight but I used to kid myself that I was a high functioning overweight person. Someone who could do just as much as everyone else (or so I thought) and that 75 kilos (165 pounds) was my body’s preferred weight.

I had some success with other weight loss programs over the years, but after my second child was born, the baby weight I lost again started coming back. I couldn’t work it out. I was exercising like crazy but I didn’t realize that my emotional eating was undoing all my hard work and then some. In hindsight, I was far more stressed out with two children to take care of than just one. When the kids were napping or tucked into bed at night, I would go to the pantry and eat, usually potato chips, until they were gone but I wouldn’t feel at all satisfied.

I’m now at a healthy weight, I run 5 km (3 miles) 3 times a week and I am bursting with energy, confidence and enthusiasm for life that I never had before and I want you to experience this too.

How did I manage this? With the help of My Body Tutor!

I first came across My Body Tutor mentioned in a book. I just knew it would work for me but I really struggled to take the first step to sign up. I was someone who always wanted to do things myself. I hated asking for help. I quickly learned that losing weight is so much easier when you don’t try to do it alone – another great life lesson MBT has taught me!

Why I chose MBT:

As a client I was so thrilled with the results I got and how those results impacted every area of my life for the better, I just knew I had to join the team. I love to help people change their lives by taking control of their health and fitness. MBT and the great team behind it is the reason I am living the amazing life I have today. As a mother of two small kids I want to help as many people as I can to realize that you can do it, no matter what your life looks like right now. Getting your weight and health under control will make everything else so much easier. I can’t wait to show you what’s possible.

Fun facts about me:

  • I’m actually from New Zealand but I live in Japan with my Japanese husband, 2 small kids and a miniature schnauzer.

  • I’ve worked as an English teacher in Japan for the last 15 years.

  • I speak Japanese fluently but my German is a bit rusty these days.

  • In my free time, which is so little, I love to do Ikebana or Japanese flower arrangement, in the winter I love to ski and now my kids are bit older I’m making more “me time” to travel alone.

  • I took up running for the first time in my life at the age of 36! I was the kid who was always last on school sports day! Now I’m working towards my first half marathon. (Thanks, MBT!)

  • I rarely watch TV, it feels like I’m being drugged when I do, I prefer listening to inspirational podcasts and reading personal development books.
