Growing up I had terrible eating habits and never, ever worked out. I suffered from health problems- especially really bad digestion – but no pills, or even doctors visits, ever helped. Once I changed my eating habits for good and fell in love with healthy cooking, yoga, going for walks, meditation and other exercises, I finally got things under control.
It’s been a journey for me personally, but I’m at the point where living a healthy lifestyle is truly something that I love and prioritize. It makes me feel my best (both physically and mentally) and I cant imagine living life any other way now. Luckily, I now get to help other people feel the same way everyday through my counseling and writing to make the connection between a healthy sustainable diet, regular exercise, good habits and FEELING their best.
Over the past 10 years I’ve been learning everything I can about a healthy lifestyle. I received my BA in Psychology from Fairfield University and my professional certifications in Holistic Health, Nutrition and Yoga from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Three Sister’s Yoga. As a bit of a “science nerd” and someone with a love for facts, I love being able to combine knowledge from all of the different “mind/body” schools of thought I’ve studied. We all know there’s more to weight loss than “eat this, don’t eat that” – and that’s really where I think I excel.
I love the challenge of helping people to do what they think that they can’t. Of becoming someone they think they are not. Of actually enjoying what they think they are going to hate. Changing habits can be hard, but when you see the rewards of your efforts, it’s definitely worth it.
