Hello there! Nice to (virtually) meet you! My name is Paul, I am a certified personal trainer, health and wellness coach, and nutrition coach here at MyBodyTutor. I am very excited that you’re reading this, because that means you did it! You made it here, you found the secret sauce, the light at the end of the tunnel, the answer you’ve been searching for. You found a way out of the constant yo-yo diet cycle, and I couldn’t be happier for you!
Ok, let’s back up for a second. You’re here, great, but how did I get here? A lot of people assume that because I am a health and fitness professional, that this has always been the case. Unfortunately, that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
I grew up a nerdy, unathletic kid. I spent more time thinking up excuses to get out of gym class, than I ever did taking part in any physical activity. A child of divorce growing up in NYC, I had to feed myself most days, so by the time I was 18, I’m pretty sure my body was about 80% dollar pizza slices and 2 liter cokes.
Things started to change after I graduated college. Not really by choice, but I graduated in 2012 with degrees in business administration, and communications. To say the job market was not kind to me, would be an understatement.
So I was unemployed, living at home, and overweight. I figured, at least I could change one of those things. And thus, my journey in fitness began.
I started working out, busting my butt hard almost daily in the gym (I had plenty of free time, so I figured why not). The thing was, after over a year of training, I hadn’t gotten anywhere. I had nowhere near the results I thought I deserved for all the effort I put in.
It was maddening. I wanted to quit. Instead, I decided to double down, and figure out where I went wrong. I started to read textbooks and magazines, watch YouTube, and anything else I could do to learn about fitness.
It turns out that my mistake was pretty big: I had completely overlooked nutrition. As the cliche goes, you can’t outwork a poor diet. Boy is that true, and I learned first hand.
So, here I was, in my mid-20s, jobless, but with all this information in my head that I knew could help others. I decided to try becoming a personal trainer, and fell in love with helping people change, and the health and fitness industry. The rest, as they say, is history.
Since then, I’ve spent the last 6 years honing my skills, learning everything I possibly could about health, nutrition, fitness, working out, and anything else I thought might help me, or others, live better, healthier lives.
To say this is my passion would be an understatement. This is it. I’ve found my calling. Helping people learn about their bodies, and live better, healthier, more active lives is it.
And, here we are, back where we began. You’re here, and I’m here to help, so you’ve come to the right place. Once again, welcome, you’ve made it!
After nearly a decade in the health and fitness world, I thought I had seen it all. Lots of companies that I really liked, all doing great work. They were all missing something though.
Then, one day, reading through a blog on real estate investment, of all things, the author mentioned a company that had helped him lose weight, and keep it off. Always curious, I decided to check it out, and landed on the MBT homepage.
As soon as I did, I knew I was home. Reading through the blogs, the bios of the other coaches, it became immediately apparent to me: they get it. There is a right and wrong way to do weight loss, and this place did it right. I wanted to be involved, and I sent in my resume that very day.
In a world of quick fixes, Instagram models, and tummy teas, it’s easy to get swept up in hype. It is refreshing then, to find a company that puts the client first, aiming for real, lasting results, above all else. That is what MBT does, and that is why I am here, to help them with the mission, and help to change lives!
