Amanda

AmandaI didn’t know it at the time, but for the majority my high school and college years I had trouble with my digestion. I would get extremely bloated after eating a meal or feel like food was just sitting in my stomach for hours after I ate. I was irritable and had pretty bad mood swings, frequent migraines and I never felt like I had the kind of energy I knew I was supposed to have. I always brushed it off as something that was “normal” because so many of my friends reported similar things.

It wasn’t until things started getting a little more serious and really, until I started paying a lot more attention to how my body felt, that I realized this was not normal at all. We are not supposed to feel tired, bloated, sluggish and foggy after eating food. Food shouldn’t be sitting in our stomachs hours after we eat it. It shouldn’t be causing us headaches, stomach aches or joint pain. I got really passionate about this and decided to become a Health Coach in 2016 through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Through my training and personal experiences, I learned that our bodies WANT to be balanced – and they will get back to balance on their own if we give them the chance to. By properly nourishing our bodies, minds, and souls, we create the right environment for our bodies to thrive.

Because of this, I love helping others create balance in every major area of their lives – because it’s all connected – and I know how much it’s impacted my life.

I consider myself an “anti-diet” health coach because I don’t believe in “diets.” I know that there is not a pre-determined diet that will work for any one person, and that what worked for your friend probably won’t get you to where you want to be. We are unique individuals with unique needs and our lifestyles (food, exercise, relationships, etc.) need to reflect that!

I work with women of all ages and have a special focus on new mamas! I felt called to became a Certified Pregnancy Health Coach and Postpartum Doula because I am truly in awe of how amazing the female body is. I love helping women simplify the transition into motherhood so they can have the best experience possible and enjoy this beautiful time in their lives!

Why did I join My Body Tutor?

I know how frustrating, discouraging it can be to try (and I mean really TRY!) to do your best only to fail over and over again. You want so badly to do right by your body so that you can get over the food drama and actually LIVE your life. I’ve been there, and I know how it feels. What drew me to MBT is how different our approach is. The program centers around what so many other programs lack – daily accountability and true partnership between you and your Body Tutor.

Once we start working together, we are truly in this together. I am here to make sure you succeed! We’ll design a plan that works for YOUR unique body and life as it is right now. We’ll work through the beliefs, emotions, concerns, and roadblocks that will inevitably come up until you’ve got all the tools you could ever need to navigate the world of healthy and wellness on your own. I can’t wait to work with you!
