December is the new January

You need some motivation? This post is for you.

Let's make this a December to remember.

Most people are stuck in a downward spiral from Thanksgiving, and then "start" back up again come January, with zero momentum.

NOT US.

Let's commit right now, no matter where we are, and how we're doing, to making December an awesome month.

This way, we start January with a ton of momentum. Momentum can be our best friend or worst enemy.

You know the people who on their birthday are all depressed and upset because they can't believe how they look and feel as they're turning one year older? So on their special day they decide they're going to finally do something about it.

Then, there's the people who sign up for my program well in advance of their birthday. This way, on their birthday they're already en route!

If possible, let's be the people who decide before it's their "birthday" that they're going to take action on something that is important to them.

Not the people who celebrate their birthday all upset and depressed wishing and hoping they looked and felt differently and then go on to do something about it. (Although, this is certainly 1000x better than the other alternative: doing nothing, at all!)

We have the chance to be thrilled on our "birthday". Let's take it.

Or...

Why not just coast until January?

Because at the end of the day, and at the end of the month, we will feel better. We will be happier having taken action on our health and fitness. No question about it.

Life Lesson: When there is a disconnect between our actions and our desires unhappiness ensues.

This took me a long time to realize. But it's the truth. When we're not taking action on something that is important to us, it wears on us a lot. One of the many reasons why clients feel so good after the first few months of MBT is because they're finally taking *consistent* action on their health and fitness goals.

Something that is and has been so important to every single one of us...

And either we're taking action on it or we're rationalizing why we're not taking action. And if we choose the latter it absolutely wears on us. Unfortunately, that's what most people do.

Not us.

THE MOST BORING HOLIDAY SEASON EVER...

Not for me. Not for you. Not for us.

This isn't about never indulging throughout the holiday season. That isn't fun.

It's about being ruthless with ourselves for the meals/snacks that don't matter so that when they do -- when it's something that is really and truly worthwhile -- we can indulge, guilt free.

3 WAYS TO COMMIT RIGHT NOW:

1. Commit to submitting your feedback every night, no matter what.

Hint: The single best way to create a habit is to do the thing you're trying to do aka the behavior/routine after you doing something you already do.

For example, I brush my teeth every night. Almost always, at least! :) Try submitting your feedback right after brushing your teeth. Or right after dinner. Or right after washing the dishes. Piggybacking what you're trying to do after something you always do is an extremely powerful way to create a new habit.

NOTE: As you know, this is what I send to my clients. Instead...

Commit to being brutally honest with yourself. Don't you think if you could stay consistent with your diet and exercise you would? Consistency isn't easy. Life gets in the way!

Most people have trouble staying consistent with their diet and/or exercise. How do I know? Most people aren't in great shape.

When you realize you have trouble staying consistent you'll have a choice: Either do nothing or get help.

If being healthy and fit is as important as you claim it is -- if it's truly a priority, then getting help is a no-brainer. This is our health we're talking about here. Without it, all of our "success" means nothing.

Everyone wants to be healthy and fit. It's just not a priority to them.

Consider signing up for my program now instead of later on. Besides, it's 100% guaranteed. What do you have to lose? This way, you have a TON of momentum come January and are already well on the way to getting the body you want.

2. Really figure out what is worthwhile to you. To me, worthwhile = memorable. Will I remember this in at least two weeks from now? That is the question I ask myself. It helps a lot.

3. Decide right now that December is going to be a month of progress. Not a month of stalling or jogging in place.

Let's commit to making December a month to remember. You will not regret starting January with a huge head start.

If you need help, get it. There are people out there who live to get people the results they want. Hello! :)
