In the past, I solely focused on the workouts with little regard to nutrition. If I tried a diet, it would be overly restrictive and not part of a sustainable lifestyle.
I found out about MyBodyTutor from Sam Parr on the My First Million podcast. I did hesitate to sign up because the service is fairly costly, and I’ve always found it hard to break up with food as a security blanket. I’m a stress eater and tend to use food to cope with other issues.
My hope in joining was to better understand what it would take to recomp and stay at a sustainable weight/body composition. The biggest difference with MyBodyTutor is the coach. Heather was excellent. She had great advice, kept me on plan, and provided strategies to deal with all sorts of challenges to the plan.
Now, I’m at my goal weight and have been maintaining for a month. The biggest change has been being at a stable weight but not being overly restrictive. In 2024, I took my body fat from 20.7% to 10.3%, measured by Dexa scan.
For anyone considering joining, I’d say commit to consistency. Don’t take an all-or-nothing approach. Your relationship to food has to change for it to be lasting. Start right away – don’t push it off till after the holidays. Holidays, celebrations, and trips will always come up. There is no finish line, so it’s best to start working on this now and figuring out how to deal with each life event.

It's fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person. We find something they have that we don't. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can't achieve the same level of success.
The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.
