A good friend of mine happened to lose a lot of weight with the program and has kept it off for years. I had given up all hope on ever reaching a goal or even losing any weight at all. She never pushed the program on me, but when I finally did ask, she was more than helpful and informative about how MBT would not only help me achieve what I wanted to achieve, but inevitably change my life for the better in almost every aspect.
Like most people attempting to lose weight, I have tried almost every avenue possible. Diet pills, fasting, “miracle shakes,” starvation, got consultations for plastic surgery, grapefruit diets, juice cleanses, 21-day challenges, you name it, I tried it. Nothing ever worked and if I did shed a few pounds, I would gain them right back after every time something ran out, was over, or I lost interest.
All those options were missing two things: accountability and sustainability.
Initially, I was very hesitant about MBT. It was on the expensive side, it was scary because there was no magic trick to it and it required me to work hard and make real changes. After my first discussion with my coach, I was ready to hit the ground running.
I couldn’t wait to start! It was almost like I had a completely different outlook on life and I saw everything in a different light for the first time ever and a fire was lit inside me. I feel as though this was possible because I knew I wasn’t going to have to go through this journey alone. With a coach, I would have someone at my side, a professional to give me advice, talk me through difficult moments and temptations. Someone who wanted nothing more than for me to succeed and reach my goals and become a happier healthier me.
I decided after that initial phone call to take the jump and start my journey to a better me. I started MBT in January and by July of that same year I was down 35 pounds, had more energy than I knew what to do with, knew how to navigate my way through a gym and thoroughly enjoyed exercise, could resist temptations and was happier than I had been with myself in over a decade.
As a child, I was never taught proper eating habits, I didn’t understand food nutrition and I developed an emotional attachment towards unhealthy foods. When I was upset, I used food to help me feel better and to comfort me. Working with MBT taught me how to cope with my thoughts and feelings without utilizing food and gave me alternatives that were healthier for me to comfort my emotions when needed without gaining weight and that were also more fulfilling and satisfying than any type of food could bring me.
MBT taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I couldn’t be more grateful for taking the leap and allowing MBT to become a part of my life forever. I now have the tools and the education I have always needed when I’m faced with difficult challenges when it comes to food, my emotions, stress, anxiety and many other difficult avenues throughout life.
I can't thank MBT and my coach enough for all the incredible changes the program and the people involved have brought to my life. It's fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person.
We find something they have that we don't. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can't achieve the same level of success.
The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.
