I didn't really NEED to lose weight. I spent most of my life very much as a bean pole, with genetics that had me super tall and slender through most of my 20's (6' 5" and well under 200). I didn't think much about it, and even as I ever so gradually crept up to around 215 in my mid-30's I figured that was just what happens with age--I hadn't really considered it was something I could or should do something about, because I largely still thought of myself as the skinny guy. (I dabbled in the Slow Carb diet for a month or two years ago, but it felt like suffering and something I was happy to stop doing.)
But then my wife found and joined MBT, this was about 9 months ago. I barely noticed the difference in how we were eating from the subtle changes she was making in our meal planning (it certainly wasn't dramatic nor did it feel like any sacrifice), and then she told me she was down 13 pounds at just 4 weeks in. She looked great and that inspired me to join, because again, even though I didn't feel any real NEED to lose weight, I wanted to look more hot too.

My sleep is consistently better, and thus my work has been better, owning to being better rested and more regularly clear headed. To top it off all of my blood work numbers improved: I've reeled way back from being pre-diabetic and my cholesterol numbers are much better as well.
In short, I'm in the best shape I've been, possibly ever, and certainly since my early 20's, here at 39. Rather than consigning myself to acceptance of a slow decline in physique with age I feel like I got to reverse the clock. I am grateful for this program. I'm so glad we came across it in

What did you say to yourself as you were reading John’s story?
It’s fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person. We find something they have that we don’t. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can’t achieve the same level of success.
The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.
