I proved to myself that I can do hard things. I can set a goal and achieved it, and that confidence has built momentum in other areas of my life.

If Lisa can do it with MBT you can too. Yes, YOU! (No, we're not yelling. We just really believe in what we do.)
1) How did you find out about us?
I found out about MBT from reading Gretchen Rubin's book “Better Than Before.”
2) What have you tried in the past?
I tried Weight Watchers, counting calories, and Keto.
3. There was a moment just before you signed up to work with us. What was the main reason, doubt or insecurity that was holding you back from signing up?
I didn't believe in myself. I was scared to fail since I had tried to lose weight many times before unsuccessfully.
4. What was life like before you started working with MBT?
Before joining MBT, I was constantly having a negative internal dialogue when it came to my body and my relationship with food. I knew exercise and eating better were the ways to achieve my weight loss goal so couldn't I just do those things? I didn't understand the disconnect and so I created a negative narrative that I was lazy, uncommitted, and would never reach my goal. I gave myself every excuse...I was getting older, my metabolism was probably slowing down, I had two kids and my body just wouldn't be the same.
I was torn between focusing less on the goal of losing weight and more how to practice acceptance with my body and while I definitely believe that accepting my body is important, I think I was using it as a respectable excuse to not go after my goal.
5. What were your hopes before joining?
I envisioned a life where I achieved my weight loss goal once and for all, so it could stop taking up so much mental and emotional energy. I wanted to feel in control regarding food and my health. I wanted to be proud of myself and to set an example for my children.
6. How is MBT different from the billion other companies out there?
The daily accountability from the coaches and the tools they provide are key. MBT not only helped me find the link between WHY I was making bad choices when I knew better but taught me the tools to deal with it. My coach was the perfect combination of cheerleader and teacher. She offered tough love when I needed it and encouragement when I doubted myself. She believed in me from day one.
7. Where are you now?
Figuring out what my final goal weight would be was challenging for me. I think I was scared to set a goal that was too aggressive and fail. I started my journey at 139 lbs and got down to 127 lbs. I haven't been below 130 in over 10 years. I honestly never thought I'd see the 120's again. I finally ended up picking a weight goal range of 127-129 lbs and that felt right for me. I have more confidence and it comes not just from feeling better in a bathing suit, but also from knowing that I'm in control vs having food make me feel out of control. Plus, after all the self doubt I had, I proved to myself that I can do hard things. I can set a goal and achieved it, and that confidence has built momentum in other areas of my life. I'm definitely happy about the weight loss and how I look and feel but I'm most happy that I can serve as an example of that mantra. My babies will know that their mama can indeed do hard things.
Although I was definitely scared to try MBT the thing that kept nagging me was the thought that I wasn't living up to my potential, that I was giving up on my dream, and on myself. As I took some time to decide if I was going to actually commit, I kept thinking to myself ‘what if I fail...but what if I succeed?'
That question was more motivating than the fear of failing. The idea of what I could be was stronger than any doubt. I'm so glad I took a chance on myself and MBT.
What did you say to yourself as you were reading Lisa's story?
It's fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person.
We find something they have that we don't. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can't achieve the same level of success.
The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.
Here's the best part: I guarantee it or your money back. I sincerely believe in what we offer that much. I know MBT will be the last program you ever do or need.
