The summer of 2016 found me divorced, depressed, and a shell of my former self. I was 30 pounds underweight. Friends would stop me on the street asking if I was sick. Realizing I needed to make a change, I found fitness again. I regained control of my nutrition and exercise regimens in a way that fostered my personal growth and took me to a place of achievement that the 2016 me would have thought impossible.

Whew! Now that I have that off my chest, a little about me. I am a father of three beautiful girls, ages 23, 19, and 13. I am an avid hiker, a student of stoicism, and fitness enthusiast. I am a former elementary and middle school teacher, high school coach, and college volleyball official. I am currently a Level 2 CrossFit instructor and founded Recovery Fitness, a nonprofit teaching fitness and nutrition to substance abuse recovery groups. Over the past 20 years I have coached or taught both fitness and nutrition to groups and individuals ages 4 to 99.

I chose to be a part of the My Body Tutor family because their methods of helping individuals meet their goals matched the way I reached my goals. Daily accountability, guidance, and consistency was what I needed during my journey and what led to my success, and those things are what attracted me to My Body Tutor.
