In my never-ending quest to understand what makes successful people so successful, one of the things I find time after time is how much support successful people have.
Along the way, I've encountered many (unfortunate) people that just can't get over this fact. They feel they have to do everything all alone. It's their ginormous egos that get in their own way.
As connected as the World is in 2010, it's interesting how disconnected so many people feel to other people.
I think this causes many people to live their entire lives in their own head AND nothing but their own head.
But the problem with that is we tend to get overwhelmed or anxious or fearful and we don't have anyone else to let this pressure out on.
So, here's something we can all do more of:
Live out loud!
What does that mean? It means stop keeping everything to yourself.
It means be a little more vulnerable - not everything has to be perfect. It means opening up a bit more. It means letting more people in. It means sharing what's really going on in your life with others.
(In fact, vulnerability is a huge key to likability.)
Just because you feel alone doesn't mean you have to be all alone with your thoughts. Even just writing your thoughts and worries and fears on a piece of paper can help tremendously!
Just get some of them out of your head.
The less you live inside your head, the more you'll be able to deal with reality and the less likely you'll be to reach for food to suppress those feelings, emotions, etc.
Bottom line: Live out loud and while you're at it, you might as well laugh out loud more often! (Is that laughter as contagious for you as it is for me? I die every time I watch that!)
