I wanted to be able to keep up with friends on active trips. I didn't want to be the slowest on hikes and bike rides. I wanted to feel and look like the athlete that I aspire to be. I have tried many things before, but they all lacked daily accountability.
When I found MyBodyTutor, I hoped that I could stick with it long enough to see results, and I have! I have lost 28 pounds total since starting. I feel so much better about myself. I feel healthier and more fit. It's easier to participate in the challenging physical activities that I enjoy, such as a recent hiking trip, which was much easier carrying around less weight. I can now see the muscles that I've been working hard to build through weightlifting. My tutor was so positive and encouraging.
It was the daily check-ins, knowing that someone was truly interested in my success, and would be checking in every day to see how I was doing and how to support me with any challenges I was having. I really liked how they helped me set my own goals without imposing any set rules on me.

They actually care and check in daily. Just knowing that I was being "watched" helped me do what I knew was right.
My favorite thing I learned was to "make the hard choice". When I find myself wanting to eat something not in line with my goals, I remind myself to choose the option that I will feel better about myself the next day. I do not feel deprived for the first time on a diet. I am doing this for me and making my choices because "I want to," not because someone says I should.

It's fascinating when we start to notice our own behavior. Typically, we distance ourselves from that person. We find something they have that we don't. We make them into something other than an ordinary, regular person. Then, we create an excuse for why we can't achieve the same level of success.
The most important thing to realize: Whatever anyone else has done or become, you can do or become as well, with the right support, guidance and accountability.
